happy touchy-feely holiday things

If there is at least one person in your life who you consider a close friend, and who you would not have met without being part of an online fandom, post this sentence in your journal.

politics schmolitics

thanks to pauraque for pointing me toward this hilarious-yet-disturbing livejournal poll.

most people on lj seem to vote for kerry because he is the lesser of two evils. it is always that way with career politicians. but let me be a completely ridiculous liberal looney democrat and point out that not only is kerry more articulate than george w. bush, he takes a stand, publically, on national television, on big issues like abortion, gay rights, and the iraq war. sure his economic policy may seem a little confusing, but its tough to know exactly what the economy is going to do, and its even tougher to man-handle said economy to make it the best economy for all citizens. i think john kerry has, in these three debates, shown that he is at least sensitive enough to care about the people of the united states if he's president, and by the people of the united states, i mean everyone, not just the wealthiest groups who contribute to his campaign. okay, so he's smarmy. he's a well-trained politician who has been working in washington for most of my lifetime. and he looks kind of silly sometimes. i would rather vote for herman munster than a sock monkey.

on the subject of the poll, my favorite quote from it: "Kerry is pro-choice and doesn't want to amend the Constitution to serve his own religious beliefs. Plus, Edwards is a cutie."

EDWARDS IS A CUTIE!!!!!!!!!!!! edwards will be the perfect VP: he's sweet, funny, intelligent, genuine, gentlemanly, considerate, not-a-scary-old-man, and photogenic. what else does one need in a veep? haliburton? i think not, my friends.

and on a third side, i would like to offer everyone a viable, global alternative to the green party: the united states' chapter of the world socialism organization.

just because i'm always thinking doesn't mean my thoughts are always good

Sex and the City-State.

an amazing new development

that i have been threatening for the past ... month and a half.

claustrophilia is now my personal, friends-only journal. because i got sick of people, like my parents, happening upon my journal. i've decided that i like online journalling as a form of communication with my friends, but i really need a way to screen viewers, so there you have it. and the great thing about lj is that i can keep screening and screening with special friends groups, so if there are some unsavory characters who befriend me, they STILL can't read the entries! mwahahhaha! i am cool.

so this journal is now, officially and for real this time, all about creative works and "business" kinds of things. seriously, no personal life involved anymore. you fandom people should be happy.

and a random quiz for shits and giggles

gender nazi
You are a Gender Nazi. Your boundary-crossing
lifestyle inspires awe in your friends and
colleagues. Or maybe they're just scared you
will kick their asses for using gender-specific
language. Either way, the wife-beater helps.

What kind of postmodernist are you!?
